Tourico Vacations Reviews World’s Safest Cities

February 26, 2020 //  by Tourico Vactions

World’s Safest Cities – Oslo, Norway – One of the most important aspects of traveling on any adventurer’s mind these days is safety. Parts of the world are seeing wildfires, upped levels of violence, and extreme weather – but one of the safest cities in the world is just a jet away.

The face of Oslo, Norway is multifaceted. The country can trace its roots to medieval times. If you enjoy history, ruins, castles, and fortresses, Oslo should rightfully take its place atop your luxury travel bucket list.

If you’re a writer or otherwise literary type, you probably know that Oslo was the home of a famous playwright and a Nobel Peace Prize-winning artist.

The history of Oslo’s art and architecture are on display in the city’s many museums. In this city, you’re surrounded in nature, yet you’re in a full-blown city. But this isn’t just any city – it’s actually clean.

And not only will you feel safe, you actually will be. And a burgeoning café scene offers the perfect way to lounge around and take it all in at your leisure.

During the summer is when Oslo sees a spike in tourism. Temperatures are at their highest near mid-July. If you don’t mind a wintertime chill, the winter months can be just as captivating – but very, very dark due to the lack of sunshine that far north. If you’re looking for the optimal time to head to Oslo, anytime between May and September is perfect – and it’s still a good idea to pack appropriately for north country.

Getting around the city isn’t too difficult. There are a few different airports to choose from, all of which are about an hour away. The closest one, also the largest, is the Oslo Gardermoen. After you land, grab your luggage and head to the express train terminal. The train ride is about 20 minutes long. Once you arrive in downtown Oslo, there are several different transportation options. You can walk – it’s a very walkable city – but it’s also a very large city. The usual transportation options, like bus, train, and trolley – are available, as are rental bikes. Once you purchase a transport ticket, it’s good for all modes of travel in a 24-hour period.

Some not to miss aspects of Oslo include Aker Brygge. The site offers shopping, dining, and entertainment of all kinds, as well as the Nobel Peace Center.
